However, his performances over recent months have fallen well short of his usual high standards, with a number of high profile mistakes made across the past few matches.His latest – a glaring error that secured Chelsea a draw in last week’s clash at Old Trafford – led to calls for Solskjaer to drop De Gea and give Sergio Romero the chance to play.Romero is widely regarded as one of the best backup glovesmen in world football, though he’s been restricted to six appearances this season – none of which have come in the Premier League.
